A firefighter from the Oakdale Hose Company made an unexpected discovery while checking his gear—a small green change purse. Hoping to find ID inside, the fire chief opened it and instead found a tiny pocket Bible inscribed with a name and dated May 12, 1997. Curious, the chief and his wife searched online and eventually located Amanda Clotz, a former Oakdale resident. After being contacted, Clotz confirmed the Bible was hers, lost nearly three decades ago, now returned through pure chance.
