Google is beginning to roll out age-verification measures in Canada using signals associated with a user’s account to estimate age. If Google determines someone may be under 18, additional restrictions could be applied. In some cases, users may be asked to verify their age using identification or a selfie. The change is raising questions about privacy, personal data and how adults could be affected if their age is estimated incorrectly.
