More than 1,000 young tarantulas were discovered hidden in chocolate sponge cake boxes at Germany’s Cologne Bonn Airport. Customs officers found 1,500 spiders shipped from Vietnam after detecting a suspicious odor. Officials called it an “extraordinary seizure” and expressed concern over the exploitation of animals for profit.
