Interim stay of cull order turns despair to joy on B.C. ostrich farm

Karen Espersen and Katie Pasitney, a mother–daughter duo fighting to save their 400-bird ostrich flock from a government cull, had just finished a tearful prayer with supporters at their British Columbia farm when word came that the Supreme Court of Canada had granted a last-minute stay—temporarily sparing the ostriches and buying precious time for their legal battle.
