Calgary’s job fair drew over 80 employers to connect with job seekers, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. Many young applicants say competition is tough, with limited roles open to under-18s, while others cite the city’s rapid population growth as a barrier. Despite this, optimism remains—one attendee interviewed at McDonald’s felt confident about a second interview. Since its launch 26 years ago, the fair has linked nearly 2,000 employers with more than 97,000 job seekers.
