Yearly inflation climbed 1.9 % in August, slightly below the 2 % forecast, while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) slipped 0.1 % month-over-month. Still, price pressures remain broad: 39.1 % of goods and services in the CPI basket rose more than 3 %. The figures suggest headline inflation is cooling but underline persistent underlying costs that continue to squeeze household budgets and complicate central-bank policy.
