Alleged labour trafficking operation uncovered at Manitoba hotel

A five-month RCMP probe resulted in human trafficking charges against hotel owners Jai Inder Sandhu and Satbir Sandhu in rural Manitoba. They allegedly exploited and threatened foreign workers recruited with promises of legal jobs. The investigation started February 9, 2025, after officers responded to a disturbance at a Portage la Prairie hotel. Authorities continue to investigate and support the victims involved in this case.
