The $1,000 Home Upgrade I Wish I Made Sooner

I looked into whole-house systems—they run $4,000 to $10,000 and take up a ton of space. I’d love one, but that’s out of my budget. So I went with an under-the-sink reverse osmosis system. It cost just over $1,300 installed. If you’re handy, you could cut that in half by doing it yourself (not my skill set!). Now I’ve got a dedicated spout at the sink with clean, pure water on tap. When the tank empties, it refills in about an hour. Way easier than hauling water jugs!
