In February 2024, a group of Texas farmers filed a lawsuit against Synagro Technologies, Inc., alleging that biosolids-based fertilizer distributed by the company contaminated their properties with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The farmers claim this contamination has caused damage to their farming operations and health problems.
