Federal health officials warned that major retailers failed to act quickly during a dangerous infant formula recall. The FDA sent warning letters to Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons after ByHeart infant formula linked to a botulism outbreak remained on shelves days or weeks after a Nov. 11 recall. More than 50 babies in 19 states were sickened. The FDA said recalled formula was still sold in at least 20 states, raising serious concerns about recall enforcement and supply-chain accountability.
