Some Canadian shoppers may benefit from a class-action settlement after an Ontario judge approved Loblaw’s $500M payout in a bread price-fixing case. On May 7, Judge Ed Morgan approved the deal, with $404M to come from Loblaw and George Weston. Another $96M was already paid through a voluntary $25 gift card program in 2018-19. Other accused companies deny wrongdoing; allegations haven’t been proven in court.
