Raking, bagging, and tossing leaves harms insects, wildlife, soil, and plants. Many native bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects overwinter in or beneath fallen leaves. Instead of removing them, use leaves as natural ground cover, mulch them into lawns, or add them to compost to protect habitats and enrich your soil naturally.
