First-ever airborne toxic chemical detected in Western Hemisphere

Researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder accidentally discovered the first-ever airborne measurements of toxic medium chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) in the Western Hemisphere during a field study in Oklahoma. While measuring aerosol particles, they found this unexpected pollutant. The study, published in ACS Environmental Au, marks a major step in understanding MCCPs and their presence in the atmosphere.
