Jenifer Brousseau, like many from Serpent River First Nation along Lake Huron, gathers berries and traditional medicines in the bush. Recently, she and others have grown concerned about forestry herbicides containing glyphosate. “It’s kind of scary because I don’t know where I can gather anymore,” she said, highlighting the impacts of chemical use on traditional food and medicine practices.
