Boosting Rural Health Through Smart Data

Strong rural communities are key to Canada’s agri-food success. A $1.65M gift from the McCall MacBain Foundation to U of Guelph’s OAC will launch the HEAR initiative—Health, Economy, and Adaptation in Rural Communities. Led by Dr. Leith Deacon, HEAR will gather vital data on rural health, economy, and climate readiness. A public dashboard will help communities use this info to shape better policy, plan for the future, and secure funding.
