Canada’s food industry is increasingly dependent on the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, with nearly 40% of all recent violations tied to food-related employers. From July to September 2025, 26 businesses — including farms, restaurants, and food processors — were found non-compliant with federal rules. The findings highlight how deeply the sector relies on foreign labor and raise concerns about worker treatment and systemic abuse within the program.
