Participants 412 infants from 48 US states representing diverse racial, geographic, and birth mode backgrounds. Samples taken at 1β3 months before solid food introduction. Data included fecal samples, feeding/birth info, and health at 2 years. Analyses used whole-genome metagenomics and metabolomics for microbial and metabolite profiles. Health surveys tracked allergies, eczema, and asthma. Infants clustered into 3 gut microbiome types (C1βC3) based on composition.
