Sampling uncovers allergen and authenticity issues

A Food Standards Agency survey tested 822 retail products from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for undeclared allergens, contaminants, and labeling errors. While 96% were compliant, some products contained undeclared allergens, with milk being the most common. The survey highlights ongoing risks in food safety, emphasizing the need for accurate labeling to protect consumers from allergens and ensure product integrity in both physical and online stores.
