Salted Smoked Split Herring because of possible of Clostridium Botulinum concerns

P. East Trading Corp of Bronx, NY, is recalling its Salted Smoked Split Herring due to improper evisceration. The fish, over 5 inches long, may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause life-threatening illness. The issue was found during a NY State inspection and confirmed by lab analysis. Consumers should not eat the product and should discard it or return it to the place of purchase immediately.
