Please note that I have included a new section at the bottom concerning the new AI book surge. As most of you know, everyday I post a number of free Amazon Kindle books. People that already use a Kindle or Kindle app know all about how to get and read these. But not everyone has dealt with them before.
So, here is a list of questions I’ve been asked and the answers I have.
#1: How do I get these free books? Answer: Okay, step by step, here is the process. First of all, set up a free Amazon account. Next, download the free Kindle app appropriate for your device if you don’t have an actual Kindle. Just choose the one for “PC”, “Mac”, or “Android”. Install the Kindle app and you’re set to go. Now, go to one of the links in my current freebie list. Make sure the Kindle price (not Kindle Unlimited) says “$0.00”. Look over on the right side of the page and double check the Kindle price to purchase. It should also say $0.00. Now, do not click on anything that says “Read for free” or “Kindle Unlimited” or anything else. You will want to “Purchase” this book for the price of $0.00. This is how you get the freebie offer. It will not cost you anything, but you must still “Purchase” so Amazon knows what account to send it to. The only other thing you need to do is in the same column where you clicked to purchase will be a tab where you can choose where this book gets delivered. Make sure it is set to deliver to your device before you click purchase. If you miss this step, you will have another chance to change the delivery destination on the purchase confirmation page that will come up next.
#2: Why are some of the books no longer free when I go to look at them? Answer: These freebies are promotional offers. Some of them are free for 24 hours or less. Some will remain free for a month or more. A few are always free. When I find them, I have no idea when the free promotion started, or when it will end. There is nothing to tell me that. So, they are free when I post them, but the offer on each individual book can end at any time. The best thing to do is to check the price and if it’s still free, grab them as soon as you see them. You don’t have to download them as soon as you purchase them. Once you lock in that free price, it’s yours to download when you want to.
#3: Why do I often see the same book listed a week or so later? Answer: As mentioned above, sometimes you miss the freebie offer when you get around to seeing it. But often these same books will be offered for free again at a later date. If I think they are worth another mention when I see them offered for free again, I will include them so hopefully those that missed it earlier will have another chance.
#4: Can I share these offers with other people or in other groups? Answer: Sure! I have no monopoly on them. They are free to anyone.
#5: Are there more free books that you don’t list? Answer: Tons! But I pick and choose a small selection each day and try to keep it mixed up so I am always showing you something new. Anyone can do the same thing I do. All you have to do is go to Amazon and search for the Kindle subjects you want and include the word “free” in your search. You may see hundreds or thousands, depending on your search terms. Some will be free, and some won’t. But you have to sort through them to find the gold nuggets.
#6: Do you make anything off of this? Answer: Nope. I started out looking for these for my own reading pleasure. I shared a few with friends and acquaintances now and then and people really liked the idea. So I posted a few selections in some of my groups and people enjoyed it. So I thought it worthy to continue.
#7: AI books With the surge in the use of AI, I thought I should address this subject. Many new books are coming out with people using AI to help them publish. Personally, I don’t see a problem with this so long as they are using AI to assist their research. But I do think that the end result should be compiled, proof read, and edited by an actual human being. Unfortunately we are seeing more and more books that are being produced by AI and the result is being published without any further human oversight. This makes for many mistakes, low quality, and very questionable information. My advice is to take these AI produced books with a grain of salt and any new information you find should be fact checked by you.
I wish I could sort these books out of my morning lists, but I do not have the time to read each offering before I make my daily post. Freebie buyer beware is the best I can advise.
