Kochia weeds, waist-high on farmer Jake Leguee’s land near Fillmore, Saskatchewan, have overtaken his lentil and flax fields about 100 km southeast of Regina. The invasive tumbleweed has choked crops across the area. “One kochia plant can do a lot of damage,” Leguee said. “That one seed turns into thousands.”
