Brood XIV cicadas are emerging across Eastern states including GA, KY, IN, MA, NC, NY, MD, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV, and NJ. These 17-year cicadas last appeared in 2008. Some areas may also see “stragglers” from other broods. First recorded in 1634 by Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony, these noisy insects are a predictable natural event—fascinating and loud!
