Nova Scotia premier put on notice over forest ban

A constitutional rights group, the Canadian Constitution Foundation, has warned Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston to reverse the province-wide ban on walking and other low-risk activities in forests or face legal challenges. The ban includes a snitch line and fines up to $25,000. The group argues the ban infringes on Canadians’ Charter rights, is disproportionate, and unlawfully restricts freedoms protected under section 7 and section 35 of the Constitution.
