A major randomized controlled trial published in Cell Metabolism has exposed the terrifying truth about ultra-processed foods (UPFs): They don’t just make you fat — they actively sabotage male fertility, hormone balance, and metabolic health, even when calories are identical.

The study, led by researchers from the University of Copenhagen, put 43 healthy young men on two diets for three weeks each, one consisting of 77 percent ultra-processed foods (frozen meals, sugary drinks, and packaged snacks) and the other made up of 66 percent whole, minimally processed foods. The diets were matched for calories and macronutrients, eliminating the excuse that overeating alone causes harm.
