Nestle, ConAgra promise to ditch artificial dyes

Nestlé and Conagra have pledged to eliminate artificial colors from U.S. foods, joining Kraft Heinz, PepsiCo, Tyson, and others. The move follows a request from HHS Secretary RFK Jr. and FDA chief Martin Makary. Conagra will remove dyes from frozen foods by end of 2025 and all products by 2027. Natural alternatives like turmeric and annatto are already used in some lines. Polls show broad support, and states like California have banned dyes in school meals.
