A new Statistics Canada report shows Alberta lost some of June’s job gains in July. The unemployment rate rose to 7.8% from 6.8% in June. Employment dropped by 16,800 (-0.6%), partially offsetting the 30,000 jobs added in June, signaling a slowdown in the province’s job growth.
