Manitoba has declared a state of emergency due to worsening wildfires threatening northern communities. About 17,000 residents, including all of Flin Flon, are being evacuated, with many heading to Winnipeg. A reception centre is open at Billy Mosienko Arena. The fire, now over 20,000 hectares, crossed into Manitoba from Saskatchewan. The province has requested Canadian Armed Forces assistance and urges people to evacuate safely, bring essentials, and avoid restricted roads.
