Largest sewage spill in us history running into the Potomac River

A ruptured sewer pipe near Washington, D.C. has released an estimated 243 million gallons of wastewater into the Potomac River, with officials now warning repairs could take months. The damage was worse than first believed due to a major blockage inside the collapsed line. While bypass systems are helping reduce the flow, there is still a risk of continued overflow until the repair is fully completed, raising environmental and infrastructure concerns in the region.
