On April 8, 2025, the Keystone oil pipeline was shut down following a rupture near Fort Ransom, North Dakota, resulting in a spill of approximately 3,500 barrels of oil. This pipeline transports about 624,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Alberta, Canada, to U.S. refineries. The disruption is expected to lead to increased gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel prices, particularly in the Midwest.
