President Donald Trump directed HHS to fast-track a full review of the U.S. childhood immunization schedule, saying it contains far more doses than other countries. He announced the move after the CDC’s vaccine advisory panel met on Dec. 4–5. During that meeting, ACIP voted to end routine Hepatitis B vaccination at birth and reviewed presentations questioning the current schedule and comparing U.S. outcomes with those of Denmark and other high-income nations.
