The Mayor of Calvin, Richard Gould, reports hundreds of campers stranded in Algonquin Park after a suspected tornado Saturday night. Helicopters are being used to evacuate campers due to flash flooding washing out Highway 630, the only access route. While campers may be flown out, their vehicles remain trapped, and there’s no timeline to repair the road. Algonquin Park’s Kiosk area is accessible only via Hwy. 630 through Calvin Township.
