The FDA is reportedly considering rescinding the EUA for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in children under 5, a shot available since June 2022 but never fully approved. According to The New York Times and The Guardian, the update came via a CDC email to health departments. Pfizer’s vaccine for ages 5–11 also remains under EUA, though full approval is expected this fall. The FDA may also move toward full licensing for adolescents 12 and older.
