Going Without a Grocery Store Forever?!

At week 16 of a six-month “no grocery store” challenge, the creator reflects on the learning experience: discovering what foods they actually use, stockpiling essentials, and experimenting with new recipes. They plan to invest in a chest freezer and buy local meat and produce to support local farmers, reduce reliance on global supply chains, and save money. The garden continues to provide a variety of fresh produce, including beans, peppers, tomatoes, elderberries, apples, peaches, cucumbers, and blackberries. Meals this week included chicken fajitas, vegetarian stuffed peppers, chickpea fritters, and butternut squash-lentil soup. Overall, the experiment has been eye-opening, educational, and rewarding.
