A survey by the Youth Endowment Fund of 11,000 teens aged 13–16 in England and Wales found that more than half sought mental health support, with about a quarter turning to AI tools. Young people involved in violence were even more likely to confide in chatbots, which some find safer and easier to access anonymously at any time than speaking with a professional.
