So why don’t they call it a spear? I don’t know. I don’t know anyone who does know. All I know is that a dart is intentionally quite flexible, and a spear (the jabbing, thrusting kind) wasn’t meant to be but sometimes is a little flexible for hand thrown spear purposes (RE: the Javelin in the Olympics).
