Corn and soybean sales drop, wheat rises; rail and barge movements increase

The U.S. Department of Agriculture‘s Grain Transportation Report for April 3, reveals a mixed picture for grain exports and transportation. Unshipped balances of corn, soybeans, and wheat for marketing year 2024/25 totaled 30.37 million metric tons, down 5% from last week but up 15% year-over-year.

Corn export sales fell 31% to 1.04 million metric tons, while soybean sales dipped 4% to 0.34 million metric tons. In contrast, wheat sales surged 140% to 0.10 million metric tons.
