General Mills will remove artificial dyes from all U.S. cereals and school foods by summer 2026, with plans to eliminate them from its entire product line by the end of 2027. The move follows a request from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Administrator Martin Markary. The company says 85% of its U.S. products are already dye-free, and most foods served in schools already avoid petroleum-based dyes.
