🏕️🌲 LONG-TERM SHELTER BUILD – STARTING FROM SCRATCH 🌲🏕️

This is the beginning of a true long-term shelter build, done the slow and honest way.

👤 Solo in the woods
🪓 Hand tools only
⏳ No rushing, no shortcuts

This series will follow the shelter from site selection to finished structure, spread out over multiple trips. Some quiet moments, some talking, lots of problem-solving — just steady progress the way it’s been done for years.

📍 The location was carefully chosen for:

🌞 Sun exposure
🌬️ Wind direction
💧 Drainage
🌲 Building materials nearby
🔥 Firewood access
🛠️ So far, the foundation is underway with dual ridge poles, dead-standing timber, and a layout designed to last through seasons — not just a night or two. This shelter is meant to hold up, be lived in, and improved over time.

🐕 Bonus: Wolfie approves the camp.

💬 Community question:
Would you build something like this as a seasonal shelter, or push it toward a semi-permanent backcountry base?
