On August 28, 2025, an active shooter situation unfolded in Calgary’s Crescent Heights neighborhood. Police responded to reports of an armed suspect firing shots at officers near Crescent Road NW. Residents were advised to shelter in place as the situation developed. The suspect was found deceased inside a home later that evening.
