CANDLE MAKING

candlemaking

By Margaret Bass

In the past, candles were made from beeswax obtained from the honeycombs of bees or tallow produced from the suet of beef, pork, lamb etc. Nowadays candlemakers generally use candlewax blends based on paraffin wax and stearin to make candles. Beeswax is sometimes used today, but it is scarce and expensive. This booklet will explain the basic principles of candle making. Once mastered, the creative possibilities are limitless, and you will be able to make your own unique candles.
