There are as many variables in the design requirements of wilderness home water systems as there are homes to design them for. Some of the circumstances determining these variables are:
- where the water comes from
- the quantity of water available
- the quantity required
- how it is stored
- the kind of electricity that is available
- the amount of that electricity.
